The Swiss Card not only does include the first and the last trip from the border or airport to one's destination and back, it also offers a 50% discount on all trips effected by train, boat, (postal) bus and most mountain trains and cable cars between the 1st and 2nd transfer day.

The Swiss Travel System Family Card is issued at no cost to parents who wish to take along their children under the age of 16 at no cost. Please note that at least one parent has to travel with the child/ren.

50% Discount on Mountain-Top Excursions
The Swiss Pass, Swiss Saver Pass and Swiss Youth Pass also serve as a half-fare card. If you show anyone of these tickets when taking a mountain train, aerial cable car or other means of transportation not included in the basic Swiss Travel System, you will receive a 50% discount.

- All persons not domiciled in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein are entitled to buy Swiss Travel System tickets. No photo required; a valid passport or identity card is sufficient
- The Swiss Card has a maximum validity of 1 month. However, once the included return has been used, it is not valid any longer. The first and last trip must be completed by the end of the day. Each trip has to be as direct as possible.
- When buying a ticket, you will also receive a synoptic map, which shows in detail where the tickets are valid
